Travel Tips for the Solo Traveler

Lit solo vacation are a thing, here’s what you should know in planning yours!

How many of us have planned vacations with our squad that left you as the soul survivor on the day of travel? No need to rehash the group travel drama, Lit solo vacations are a thing. This November you should definitely head down to ATL solo dolo for Werk, Pray, Slay weekend headlined by none other than creator and boss chick- Koereyelle Dubose.

A couple years ago I decided I was going to check out Dallas, Texas. I told my family and friend I was traveling and they all had the same question-“you’re going alone?” Yes y’all, I traveled from Milwaukee, WI to Dallas with me, myself and I and I’ll be doing it again this November to take over ATL.

Here are some flawless tips to help you plan and execute a lit solo vacation in the heart of Atlanta!

Fly high

#Werkaholics love a good deal and there are a number of apps and flight deals happening right now. Some of my favorite flight searches would have to be

Each of these sites offer amazing flight deals that will make your wallet smile. Check for your roundtrip flights on Wednesday (flights are generally the cheapest on this day). Also consider avoiding checking a bag, that can also add costs to your flights. Bonus tip Queens, try deleting the cookies on your web browser when searching for your flight. Cookies allow the search engine to remember certain flights, and the system believes the flight search is popular which will increase the ticket price. By all means save your coins wherever necessary.

Queen Suite

The 6th annual Werk, Pray, Slay Conference is being held at the beautiful Twelve Hotels & Residences by Marriott located in downtown Atlanta. I would strongly suggest booking your accommodations with the host hotel. Staying in the host hotel means you will not miss a moment of action during the conference. Click here to book your stay at the host hotel.

Queens, please don’t be on CP (colored people) time when booking your host hotel suites. Everybody and their momma’s want to be at the Werk, Pray, Slay and if you happen to find that the rooms are sold out, I would suggest you use any of the links below to find an equally dope room that will be near the host hotel. Booking.com and Hotels.com offer options where you can pay when you check in and many of the hotels on the site offer free cancellation. Airbnb is actually another great option for accommodations. If you’re a newbie to Airbnb make sure you look at reviews. In my experiences the reviews on Airbnb are pretty accurate. Create a profile with a picture so that hosts can easily identify you. Lastly, the Dosh app is very similar to other hotel search sites, the amazing difference is that when you book with Dosh you get cash back on a number of amazing hotels. Insider tip, just sign up for free on the app and link a qualifying debit/credit card to start earning cash back immediately on hundreds of items.

Some of my favorite hotel sites are:

I Get Around

You cannot travel to Atlanta for this fabulous weekend and not hit up some amazing spots. Be sure you’re able to get around.

Atlanta is a huge city and transportation is a must. The last thing you need to worry about during WERKPraySlay weekend is stressing about metro parking, and hitching a ride. I’d be remiss, if I didn’t leave you with ways to get around town. Between the two coshare riding companies my favorite would be Lyft. I have never had a bad experience with Lyft and below you will find my coupon code.

Since I am my sister’s keeper below you will find some exclusive links for accommodations and getting around.

AirBNB code- www.airbnb.com/c/chanelw14

Lyft code- https://lyft.com/igi/CHANEL26390

Dosh- Dosh is an app where you can earn cash back on things that you buy daily! Also get cash back when you book participating hotels.
